FAQ - PJ's Instructional Classes="PIC"
Q. Where are the lessons taught and when will they begin?
A. Music Classes and Martial Arts Classes are taught by our PIC instructors, on location at child care centers, schools, after school programs, in private homes, in the instructor's private dojo/studio and we now also offer classses online as well. We are currently serving in Georgia only for face-to-face lessons. Onlline classes are available to those outside of the Atlanta-Metro area of Georgia. To find out if we offer classes in your school, please contact us at pjs.pama@gmail.com. Once you register, your PIC instructor will contact you and let you know when the next available class for your child will be within 48 hours, excluding weekends. Your first month's/semester's tuition will be included in the registration cost. For monthly payments only, the second month will be prorated according to when your child started their first lesson.
Q. How often are classes taught?
A. Music Classes and Martial Arts Classes meet once a week, on the same day of the week, at the same time. They are usually 30-45 minutes depending on the school and age of the student. Lessons are offered year round, including the summer. During the course of the year, your child will receive 3-5 lessons per month, which averages out to 4 classes per month. There are no piano classes and martial arts class scheduled during the Thanksgiving, Christmas, Easter and other major holidays. There are no classes scheduled during Spring Break. Spring Break varies according to schools and counties, therefore, our PIC instructor goes according to the scheduled Spring Break in their area. There are no classes for 2 weeks during the summer as a break for the instructors, since we are a year-round program. This is already included in the cost of the class. All closures, breaks, and holidays are already included in the monthly tuition. Therefore, no make-ups for these will be provided.
Q. How do I pay for lessons?
A. PJ's Services, LLC accepts most major credit and debit cards. We are an all automatic monthly/semesterly recurring payments company. So, when you register your student for class, you are giving us permission to automatically charge your credit/debit card on the 1st of each month/semester for the tuition that is due. If payment is unable to be received by the 8th of the month, a $15 automatic late fee will be applied. Any declined debit/credit cards will receive a $15 NSF fee.
Q. Is the teacher qualified?

A. YES! The majority of our PIC instructors have degrees or certifications in their field or have been professionals for many years. They are all experienced professionals and are chosen not only for their qualifications, but for their love of teaching and their ability to relate to young children. Each PIC instructor is trained in the PIC curriculum and approach to that instructional program. To ensure your child’s safety and protection and in compliance with state law, all instructors undergo a comprehensive criminal history check with Bright From The Start through Georgia Department of Early Childhood Education. They also possess First Aid/CPR/AED certification for children and adults.
Q. For music classes, is a piano at home necessary to begin lessons?
A. For class lessons at school, NO! While a smaller instrument is required, a piano is not. However, while a piano at home is beneficial for practice and proficiency, it is certainly not a prerequisite to begin lessons. It is only required when doing online classes. Otherwise, all of our Instructors are required to carry keyboards with them for every lesson. Purchasing an instrument may be considered in the future. (Electronic keyboards are great gift ideas!)
Q. Is 30-45 minutes long enough for a lesson?
A. YES. In the beginning, the 30-minute session is adequate time for preschoolers - 1st graders to focus on class material, and to explore and discover the lesson objectives. In a 30-45 minute session, school-age students will be presented enough material to achieve realistic weekly goals.
Q. Can I sit in on my child's class?
A. Yes. For most programs we have an open door policy at schools. However, in-class parent observations are discouraged, as they have proven to be both a distraction to the child as well as their classmates. Discuss scheduling options for observations with the teacher or perhaps a possible alternative. We do have a closed door policy during martial arts testing.
Q. What if my child is learning at a faster or slower pace than his/her peers?
A. Occasionally a student’s learning pace will differ from that of their peer group class. PIC instructors can recognize individual strengths or areas of challenge and will notify parents if another class would better suit a child’s learning style, pace, or skill level. They may even recommend private lessons in some cases.
***Q. What must I do if I decided to discontinue lessons?
A. Upon registration, each child’s class space is specifically reserved. So that we may have adequate time to fill your child’s music class or martial arts class space, a 30-DAY WRITTEN CANCELLATION NOTICE (or a 1-month tuition cancellation fee in lieu of notice) is required to be e-mailed directly to pjs.pama@gmail.com to withdraw from lessons. Verbal notice or a cellular text message given to the childcare center or school staff is not considered sufficient notification and the cancellation fee will still be assessed.
Q. What is your school year calendar of events?
A. For the most part, we go by the Cobb County school schedule in dealing with most holidays since our company is located in Cobb County. Our schedule is provided in the welcome e-mail after completing registration. At times our PIC instructors are working in multiple counties, so if there is a difference of scheduling with your child's school, our PIC instructors will inform/remind you of scheduled holidays and breaks. If you have a question about lesson times, holidays, and make up lessons, please contact your PIC instructor for further information.
Q. How will I be billed for lessons?
A. Monthly/Semesterly statements are e-mailed on the 20th of each month/semester (or the following business day if the 20th falls on a holiday or weekend).
