Ms. Jennifer - 02-2020
PLANNED TO QUIT: My son was attending a school that provided martial arts as part of the curriculum. I was happy about that due to I felt he could truly benefit from learning self control and how to protect himself. Every so often I would go by the window and watch the class for a few minutes. I wasn’t sure if I should step in so I would just watch from out in the hallway. The internal dialogue I was having was like hey you too old to be going in there. Don’t do it, do not go in there. One day, Master Myloreal, the founder of Mikio Surai Martial Arts International came out and started talking to me. He invited me in and when I walked in I saw Sensei Nicole and Sensei Leah. I had been watching how Master Myloreal taught the class. His skills are indescribable and he commands the room with authority. I knew I needed to make a change in my life. I now know God was preparing me for something. I kept coming to class and eventually he introduced me to Sensei PJ. I know now that I was not always fully present in class. I know each time I attempted to learn something I made it harder than it was. I would spend so much time analyzing what he said and trying to figure out how to make my body do what was requested as well as focusing on how much the guys were doing. I got a chance to know some truly gifted and talented women in class and form bonds with them as well. As I got to know the women I started to feel this is where I belong. I fit in here and there is no competition. Everyone wants you to succeed. I made it from no belt to green belt before I experienced another one of those unforgettable life changing days. I am sure I was driving Sensei PJ crazy in my mind. I often thought that but she was always... and still is... extremely patient with me and has the same foundation of teaching like Master Myloreal. Sensei PJ is an Angel. I went to hear her sing at church and I was like wow! Look at that beautiful gift God gave her. I so admire Sensei PJ for all she has accomplished in her life. One day I came to her class and I thought I was going to quit. I never told her that was my plan or that I was thinking about it just driving over there that day, August 19, 2019. I was getting so frustrated with myself. I was not as focused as I knew I could be. I was making excuses to myself and to Sensei PJ. I could not figure out why. I would say I was going to do something and then not do it. This internal conflict was causing me some issues. Oh boy, when I came the dojo and was running late, I had no idea there would be visitors in class that night. Well, I got out of my car and walk in and I see Master Myloreal and Sensei Nicole with Sensei PJ. I looked at him with this hateful look because I knew there would be no quitting for me that day. Little did I know God had other plans for me. What I have come to understand is that God put these three people in my path for a reason. I took the opportunity to make a new road in my life when I started this journey. Quitting was not going to be an option. In fact there is a principle we live by” The thought of doubt, quitting and fear does not exist.” But here I was thinking of quitting anyway.
Well, class got started. One of the challenges I was having was holding the squat position for 5 minutes. I had been telling myself I could do it for about 2 minutes 23 seconds sometimes less, I can’t. The pain in my legs I would just quit and fall to the floor. Not that night, Master Myloreal said she is going to hold it for 5 minutes. In my mind, I was like yep your right. We're holding this thing for five minutes. I held it for 6 minutes. When class was over, I was in my car, my thoughts started flowing ever so freely. Of course I asked myself why was I able to do it when I had said I couldn’t before. It was as if the doubt and fear and pain had been removed. Sensei Pj was proud of me for holding it for 6 minutes. I was proud of me too. The time seemed to speed up and before I knew it I had held the position for longer than what was expected. So after this day, I went home researching how I could get past my pain barriers. I started practicing Martial Arts at work, working on balance, strengthening my body in every way I could. I was now ready to start doing more and I did. I learned to be patient with myself and to love myself even the things I did not like. Since August 19, I was tested and made it to purple belt. The spiritual growth I have experienced is amazing. I asked God to walk with me. I asked God to help me past the pain everyday. I realized that I was holding myself back. I started calling on Jesus and I can’t ever see myself leaving him out of my life. I had tried to solve problems without him but he showed me... nope you need Me no matter how smart you think I made you. I sing his praises and thank him for everyday he allows me to be on earth. I’m certainly lighter and I worry no more. No more bags to carry no more doubt no more fear. I Thank God for sending Sensei Nicole, Master Myloreal and Sensei PJ. to grab me and pull me out of the forest, out of the deep hole I was in. Praise God! I pray that someone is blessed by this story.

We have been with PJ's Services, LLC for 5 years now. We have them teaching our son since he was 3. He is 8 now and continues to take lessons. We now have our 5-year-old daughter also enrolled. They show patience and warmth to the children. They impressed us as dedicated, disciplined, and creative teachers that are organized and prepared for the lessons.
The teaching program focuses on clear developmental milestones. Under Mrs. PJ's instruction, my son has become skilled at reading music and playing the piano. Sometimes Mrs. PJ even taught my son how to overcome his occasional frustration that comes with learning increasingly more complex songs. They have performed on stages as well so their public speaking skills are also being learned and encouraged.

PJ has been my daughter’s piano teacher for over two years, and she has been doing very well in her lessons. She has taken her from having no music skill at all, to where she’s now able to sight read music and understand the basic theory and techniques.
PJ is a wonderful person and teacher. She’s very patient, loving, and she makes learning fun. My daughter loves her very much, and is very comfortable being with her. I believe PJ is very competent in her ability to teach piano lessons.

Re: Recommendation for PJ
Ms. PJ is a compassionate, determined, thoughtful, enthusiastic, and motivated individual I have come to know, love, and respect. I have come to know Ms. PJ over the past 6-7 years through various affiliations, but more closely as my son's piano and violin instructor.
Ms. PJ's piano instruction with my son, CJ, stretched for a span of approximately 2 years. CJ made great strides in his piano playing development. Through her instruction, CJ was able to accelerate his ability to play the piano and found it a joy to play the instrument. Ms. PJ expected only the best effort from her students and was able to motivate them in a loving and caring manner. My wife an I look forward to CJ's piano lessons not just for Ms. PJ's great instruction, but because we knew that the environment Ms. PJ created was comfortable, safe, and caring. We knew that our son was in good, capable hands.
Ms. PJ is also known and respected as a musician with a beautiful melodic voice. It is known in many circles that if Ms. PJ is playing and/or singing at an event, you are going to hear quality music. Her dedication to music is evidenced by her music and those that she instructs. Ms. PJ is a hardworking, dedicated individual whom I greatly respect. I highly recommend Ms. PJ's Services for music instruction. I am also available if you need any further details or information.
Sincerely, Charles W., MPT
